Making History

Tonight, instead of watching the fourth season premiere of "Lost", I decided to watch the Democratic debate.  While Kate, Jack, Hurley and Locke debated whether or not they should leave the island, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama debated something of a different sort.  It seems Obama has the ability to inspire young people, but Clinton has the experience to bring stability back into American politics.  I don't think it is fair to completely discount John McCain for the next presidency, but I would argue that he has a lesser chance to rule our country.  In another year, he may have had the edge.  However, after the ridiculousness of George W. Bush, it seems our country is craving a change.  This year, change will come in the form of a black man or a female leader.  As it stands, I think Hillary (or Big Hill as I like to refer to her), has the lead over Obama.  Obama, on the other hand, has been steadily catching up to Big Hill, particularly in the last couple debates.  As we wait and see who leads come Super Tuesday, I will be sitting on the edge of my seat as Anderson Cooper hides his sexuality through a mask of poll results and voting numbers.  This may detour from my obsession with reality television and the perfection of "Lost", but when it really comes down to it, there will be a greater satisfaction watching "Lost" on  DVD, and reality television in marathon form when I am hungover from a night of heavy drinking.
